Tronox has announced plans to increase annual capacity at the Tiwest pigment plant by 40,000-50,000 tons, providing increased sales in the Asia-Pacific regions where demand grew by approximately 11-13% in 2006. The company estimates the total expansion will cost between $35-45 million, The new capacity is expected to come on line in 2009. Tiwest is a 50/50 joint venture between Tronox Western Australia Pty. Ltd. and a subsidiary of Exxaro Resources Limited.
